Voluntary Return Kakuma

If you are interested in voluntary return to your country of origin and you wish to obtain further information about the process, conditions in country of origin, return assistance and services, please see below.

For your information, please be informed that UNHCR Kenya provides a pre-departure cash grant of 150 USD per person to all returnees regardless of their nationality, age or travel mode.

  • Four Help Desks are accessible at NRC Field Posts from Monday to Friday 8:30 – 12:30 (no appointments required).
    • Locations:
      • Kakuma 1 – UNHCR Field Post 1
      • Kakuma 2/3 – Liz-Ahua hall
      • Kakuma 4 – NRC center 4 lower campus
      • Kalobeyei – NRC center village 1

Visit the Integrated Return Help Desks (IRHD) and staff members of UNHCR, RAS and NRC will provide necessary information. You will also be able to register once you decided to voluntarily return to your country of origin.

You can book a field post counselling appointment with UNHCR through KASI. KASI is available on computers located in UNHCR Field Posts.

If you are in Eldoret and Kitale and you are interested in voluntary return to your country of origin and wish to obtain further information about the process, conditions in country of origin, return assistance and services, you can contact UNHCR Kakuma by writing to [email protected]. You can also visit RAS, in the Public Works Building next to Immigration on Oloo Street.
