SYNOPSIS OF THE RADIO SHOWS IN KAKUMA AND KALOBEYEI

REF FM 88.4

Good Morning KalobeyeiMon-Fri 6am-10am – a breakfast show that focuses on current issues/happenings within and outside the camp that are of great concern to the community. These issues vary from social & family affairs, health & sanitation, governance & politics and businesses & entrepreneurship.

Jasho languMon-Fri 10am to 1pm – is a Swahili word meaning “my hustle “. The show focuses on the lives of hustlers especially women in the camp, from their daily lives to them engaging in business to manage and support their families, SGBV issues, parenting and hygiene

Misalkeri Show – Mon-Fri 4pm -7pm – an Arabic Juba show that always brings in all Arabic speakers and those learning how to communicate in Arabic within the camp Kalobeyei and Kakuma. 

Sports ArenaSaturdays from 2 pm to 6 pm your go-to sports program on REF FM KK Radio. Catering to both refugee and host community sports enthusiasts, we provide comprehensive updates on local, national, and international sports.

SIFA FM ATOO 101.1

Atoo Breakfast from 6am to 10am which has the following segments weekly

Kiwewe / Trauma that encourage people going through so many challenges of life both to refugees and the host community.

African Challenge focusing on challenges that Africa as a continent faces.

Mid-Morning from 10am to 1pm which targets all the employed people and business people.

Afya Yako which educates people about health related issues 

Women of Hope which focus on life skills and how women can overcome challenges in their life.

Youth program that plays music that encourage and educate the youths and talks matters youth life:

Youth Junction which focus on stages that youths undergo and what they face in life and how to involve themselves in important things in their day to day life 

Mazingira Yetu which is a segment that focus on youths and environment and to care about the environment more on climate change.

Baraza la Atoo which is a late evening program that brings everyone on board across and discussing matters affecting the community in their day to day activities in both economic, politically and socially.

Radio Atta Nayece 90.1 FM

Bunge La Atanayeche; Mon-Fri 7.00am – 8.00pm –; political issues affecting people directly or indirectly are discussed

Kileleta cha Atanayech; Mon-Fri 8.00am – 9.00am -; social issues, marriage and relationship

Program (Akeor Angiturkana); Mon-Fri 4 Pm- 7 Pm -; Political programme that highlights Turkana issues and possible solutions. Main focus will be topical issues relating to gender, human rights, leadership and governance, cultural issues, conflict resolution and integration

Jambeni Saturdays 7.00am- 9.00amTargetingSchools, teachers, students, bookshops and publishers in sharpening students wits on language and emphasize on which books that best suits them.

Children Interact Saturdays 9.00 am – 10.00 am -Various key issues affecting and surrounding our children  -Creating a platform for children issues such as well should we bring up children. 

Youth Drive Show Saturdays 10.00pm – 1.00pm – Celebrating, Turkana local music, E. African talent, Music poetry, freedom and expression.

Sports Show Saturdays 2.00pm -4.00pm – Targets sports ministry and other stake holders, nurture, educate and entertain on local sports, national and international.
