Information for Persons of Concern on roadmap and solutions for refugees in Dadaab and Kakuma camps

May 2021

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees visited Kenya at the end of April to have discussions with the Government on solutions for the refugees living in the camps. The Government of Kenya and UNHCR agreed that they will work together with you to implement a solutions strategy this and until June 2022.

We would like to assure you that we will keep you updated and, when the time comes, we will consult with you on the different options that may be available, including voluntary repatriation. We will work towards ensuring that any solutions are done on a strictly voluntary basis.

At present, the Government, UNHCR and its partners continue to provide all regular services in the camps and are always there to talk with you.

Please see here for the Joint Statement by the Government of Kenya and UNHCR on the Roadmap for Kakuma and Dadaab.

You can visit UNHCR Kenya’s Facebook page for updates.
