Refugee Consortium Kenya (RCK) currently provides free legal aid counselling at its field-based legal aid clinics (Monday to Thursday) and its helplines: 0800 720 262 (toll-free, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm) and 0701 41 49 78 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, can be called outside of office hours in urgent cases). Due to Covid-19, access to the legal aid clinics is only by appointment. You can make an appointment by calling the helplines or by speaking to an RCK protection monitor. The clinics are held from Monday to Thursday at the RCK Office in the LWF Compound and at RCK Office Kalobeyei, next to the UNHCR Field Post in Kalobeyei and on Thursday at the RCK Office in Kakuma 4 opposite Kakuma 4 Police Post.
Detention monitoring and court processes, which observe COVID-19 prevention measures, are ongoing.
