Welcome Corps on Campus – call for applications

Through the Welcome Corps on Campus, refugee students will receive academic and sponsors provide services necessary for cultural, social, and academic adjustment.

This is a call for eligible refugee students to apply for an opportunity to study and live in the US for academic year 2026-27.

If you are interested in applying, please visit the Welcome Corps on Campus website and review the eligibility criteria and submit the application form.

The application period for refugee students currently in Kenya will close on October 13, 2024 at 11:59 PM (EAT). Applications will not be accepted after this time.

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)“Leadership for Africa” Scholarships

Scholarship opportunity funded by the German Foreign Office for young African refugees at higher education institutions in Germany. The programme offers full scholarships for Master’s studies in Germany to qualified applicants in all fields of study except for medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, law, fine arts and architecture. Scholarship holders also benefit from a complementary training programme in good governance, civil society, and career development.

EMPP Call for Applications/Un peu sur le PPSE

The Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP) combines refugee resettlement and economic immigration. It’s a pathway that helps skilled refugees immigrate to Canada through existing economic programs and gives employers access to a new pool of qualified candidates to fill job openings.

Any refugee who meets the minimum eligibility criteria is welcome to apply. i.e., They must:
1. Be a recognized refugee in Kenya
2. Be Between 21-55 years of age
3. Have completed High School education
4. Have completed and been paid for 1-year experience in the field for which they are applying.

Le Programme pilote des voies de mobilité économique (PPSE) combine la réinstallation des réfugiés et l’immigration économique. Il s’agit d’une voie qui aide les réfugiés qualifiés à immigrer au Canada grâce aux programmes économiques existants et qui donne aux employeurs l’accès à un nouveau bassin de personnes qualifiéespour pourvoir les postes vacants.

Qui peut accéder au PPEM?
Tout réfugié qui répond aux critères d’admissibilité minimaux est invité à postuler. c.-à-d. qu’ils doivent :
1. Être un réfugié reconnu au Kenya
2. Avoir entre 21 et 55 ans
3. Avoir terminé ses études secondaires
4. Avoir complétéet été payé pour 1 an d’expérience dans le domaine pour lequel ils postulent.

The University of Manchester Humanitarian Scholarships

The Humanitarian Scholarship program in Manchester provides support for up to 10 individuals facing immediate risk due to displacement caused by armed conflict. This scholarship is applicable for undergraduate and master’s degrees, excluding programs in medicine, dentistry, nursing, and architecture. Up to 10 scholarships are available. The awards cover tuition fees, living expenses and visas.

How to apply

Undergraduate courses: 3-year courses, except Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Architecture. Apply via UCAS.

Master’s courses: All courses except MBA, Clinical Medicine, Dentistry. Apply online here.

The University Corridors for Refugees programme aims to give refugee students currently based in Kenya, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe an opportunity to continue a master degree programme in Italy through a scholarship.

Refugee students will be selected for this program in 2024 and women candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. To learn more about the program, click here

How to apply

Italian universities will open a call for applications for a masters degree scholarship on 1 March 2024. The deadline to apply will be on 15 April 2024.
