PSTIC has a range of mental health and psychosocial support services (MHPSS).
Emergency response: In any emergency involving protection, health, mental health or other issues call the PSTIC Helpline 24/7 to be connected with a person available for immediate home or community response as well as to access information and referral.
Mental Health and Psychosocial Support at home and community-based care: A trained team of psychosocial workers from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen provide 24/7 crisis response, psychosocial support, case management, problem solving, counseling, information sharing and referral throughout Greater Cairo. To reach a psychosocial worker in your community speaking your language, ask your community leader or call the PSTIC Helplines.
Mental Health Clinics and Counseling Center: Psychiatrists, psychologists and refugee counselors offer confidential counseling and therapy for families, couples, youth, children, adults and groups in easily accessible offices in Garden City, Nasr City and 6 October City (soon).
Substance Abuse Program: A trained team offers treatment for substance abusers and support for their families, and community awareness raising.
Stress Management Groups: Counselors and psychosocial workers facilitate groups offering support and teaching stress management and life skills to enhance adjustment to life in Egypt.
Center for Opportunities (CFO): People with special needs and disabilities receive life and livelihood skills in a 2-month training course. Also, socialization groups are available for adults and children with special needs.
Youth in Peace Activities: Youth participate in school and community-based workshops and activities to promote positive life skills.
UNHCR Reception Area: Psychosocial Workers are available inside the UNHCR Reception Area daily offering psychosocial support and referral as need for mental health services.
