UNHCR Armenia - Help for refugees, asylum-seekers, stateless persons and those at risk of statelessness

If you are an asylum-seeker, refugee or stateless person in Armenia, the information on the website is for you. Your access to basic rights and services, well-being and safety are top priorities for the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), including in case of an emergency. UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, created this website to provide reliable and useful information on protection and local integration in the country.

If you face acute and urgent problems relating to education, healthcare, social protection, freedom of movement, access to asylum procedures, and access to other rights and services, and if you reside in Armenia, please contact UNHCR Hotline – 0 8000 0025 (working days and hours: 11:00-18:00 on Monday-Friday, and 12:00-17:00 on Saturday-Sunday).

The Hotline operators speak Armenian, Russian, and English. In addition, interpretation from other languages will be arranged as much as possible (some challenges might occur in case of rare languages).

UNHCR’s role in Armenia focuses on supporting the Government to ensure quality asylum procedures, identification, protection of stateless persons, as well as reduction and prevention of statelessness and helping the country to carry out its responsibilities vis-à-vis refugees, asylum-seekers and stateless person in conformity with international law and standards. UNHCR assists asylum-seekers, refugees and stateless persons by making available social and legal counseling and representation through its partners.
