Interested in return transport to Syria with support from UNHCR and IOM?

    Kindly note that UNHCR and IOM will resume organized return movements to Syria on a trial basis from some locations in Lebanon. The locations are determined based on an up-to-date assessment of the current security situation. UNHCR and IOM will assess full-scale resumption of organized returns as conditions allow.

    This programme offers transportation support arranged by UNHCR and IOM and a one-time return cash grant of USD 100 per family member returning to Syria. Participants can bring 8 cubic meters of luggage, in addition to their carry-on.

    Tentative scheduled trial return dates:

    • 10 June with departure from Zahle, via Masnaa
    • 17 June with departure from Zahle, via Masnaa

    Who may register interest in the organized movement?

    • Syrians known to UNHCR and their immediate family members
    • Planning to return voluntarily and permanently to Syria
    • Not fleeing the current conflict or from conflict-affected areas in Lebanon

    Drop-off locations in Syria:

    Rural Damascus, Damascus, Homs, Hama, Idlib, and Aleppo (final drop-off locations will be communicated during the interview).

    • UNHCR will be processing and delivering the Repatriation Form and Return cash assistance in Lebanon
    • The movement may be subject to cancellation/postponement due to the security situation and potential road closures.
    • Do not arrange to leave your home or sell belongings until UNHCR confirms your return and provides you with an official Repatriation Form.
