Travel Permit – USA

This information is for refugees whose UNHCR resettlement cases are submitted to the United States of America (USA). Applicants under Temporary Protection and International Protection status in Türkiye should apply for travel permit when they are invited for an interview for the USA outside their residence city. If you are informed by ICMC for a resettlement interview, you should apply for travel permit on e-devlet only 2 or 3 days before your travel date. Earlier applications may be rejected automatically. Reason of your travel permit is crucial, hence, please follow the steps below. If your travel permit application is rejected, you should try again on the same day or the following day. If you cannot succeed in getting your travel permit application approved, please call UNHCR on 444 48 68 or ICMC on  (0212) 219 20 55.

1. Install the e-Devlet Kapısı App
2. Enter your Turkish Temporary Protection or International Protection number and password, then click on “Giris Yap” button (If you don’t have a password, approach the closest PTT office to obtain password).


3. After signing in, click on “Arama” at the bottom of the page, then type ‘Yol İzin’ in the search area, and click on ‘Yabancılar İçin Yol izin Belgesi’, then Click on blue ‘Yeni Başvuru’ button on the bottom right of the page as shown below.


4. Under “Talep Nedeni”, press on “Seciniz”, then Choose ‘Diğer’, the last option on this page


5. In the box “Diğer Neden” , type ‘Üçüncü Ülke Görüşmesi-ABD-ICMC’ and under “Gideceginiz Il”, choose ‘Istanbul’, For start date, “Baslangic Tarihi” put the interview date as informed by ICMC. For end date, “Bitis Tarihi” put the date when you are expected to arrive at your residence city.  Select family members who are invited for the interview under “Refakatci Listesi” section


6. At the bottom, press the blue button, ‘Basvur’. After submission of request, PDMM will assess travel needs. When it is approved, a link will appear. Press on PDF DOSYASINI AC and travel permission will be downloaded on your phone.

Japan ICU Foundation Scholarship

Application will open on September 1, 2021 for students who wish to matriculate in September 2022. Please review the information on this page to prepare for application.

Japan ICU Foundation is offering a full scholarship that supports Syrian students who were displaced by the conflict throughout their entire undergraduate education at ICU. It covers tuition, various university fees, housing, living expenses, insurance and one-way travel to Japan.

What is ICU?

ICU is a private, four-year liberal arts college in Tokyo. Founded on the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, ICU aims to cultivate “responsible global citizens” who will contribute to world peace and to help people from diverse backgrounds live together harmoniously. ICU has been a pioneer in liberal arts education in Japan since its founding in 1953.

The majority of students are not Christian. All undergraduate students are required to take “Introduction to Christianity,” but otherwise participation in Christian programs is completely optional. This scholarship is not limited to Christian students –  Japan ICU accepts applications from students of all faiths and religions.

Am I eligible?

  • Syrian national currently residing in Türkiye or Egypt
  • Single with no dependents
  • Graduated from high school (certificate required)

*If you have not graduated from high school, you can take the GED.

  • Possess a good command of the English language

*Minimum score requirement for IELTS is 6.5, TOEFL iBT is 79

  • (ICU will not consider any applicant who has a score below the minimum requirement.)
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in studying in Japan and in the Japanese language
  • Demonstrate an interest in pursuing a major offered by ICU

What are the required documents?

  • Application form which will include:
    • Personal statement (400-500 words) on why you would like to study at ICU, and what your plans are after graduation
    • Short essay (400-500 words)
  • Transcript/report card
  • Educational certification such as Syrian Baccalaureate, IB, SAT with essay, ACT with writing, GCE A levels, etc. Please inquire if you have another type of certification. *You only need one type of educational certification.
  • IELTS or TOEFL score * Minimum score: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 79, PBT 550
  • 2 letters of recommendation**
  • Copy of legal document (passport, temporary protection card or visa)

 How can I apply?

Application will open on September 1, 2021 and close on October 15, 2021 (11:59pm Türkiye time). Before application opens, please make sure that you have all the necessary documents listed under the “Required Documents” tab. You will be able to upload all necessary documents through the application portal on JICUF website.

Izmir | Halka Project

HATAY- PROVINCIAL HIFZISSIHHA BOARD DECISIONS

Public Transport:

  • Hatay Governorate abolished previous regulation as of 1 June that public transport vehicles should operate at 50 percent passenger capacity and announced that the number of passengers that can be allowed for full capacity in public transportation vehicles. Also, standing passengers will not be allowed.
  • The application of intercity and public transportations will be carried out in line with the guidelines prepared by the Ministry of Health coronavirus Scientific Committee.

Intercity Transportation:

  • Intercity travel by airplane, rail, and bus travel would require the mobile app (Hayat Eve Sığar – HES). So, passengers will be able to buy their tickets after getting a HES code.
  • The restrictions on the travel of citizens under the age of 18 are continuing. Besides, children under the age of 18 would be allowed to travel in and between cities with their parents.
  • Entry and exit restrictions from Hatay to 15 provinces were lifted as of midnight May 31.
  • All district garages were reopened on intercity travels.

Restaurants, Cafes etc.

  • Restaurants, cafes, patisseries, coffee shops, and similar venues to open daily until 10.00 p.m. local time, as of June 1.
  • Live music activities for dancing and games will be prohibited to prevent direct contact at public recreation and entertainment venues.

Airport:

  • Since the entrance to the main regulations of the airports, the social distancing should be maintained in all facilities and terminal buildings within the campuses, with at least 1 meter of space between people.
  • Cabin baggage is not accepted on flights, items to be accepted are limited to laptops, handbags, briefcases, and baby items; Any other items must be placed in the luggage at check-in.
  • Products such as cologne, disinfectant and cleaning gel that are transported in containers of less than 100 milliliters and equivalent, which are not permitted to be carried in the aircraft cabin due to the high alcohol level, regardless of the degree of alcohol, only one per passenger, regardless of the degree of alcohol will be accepted.

In case of failure to obey with the decision of the Provincial General Sanitary Board;

  1. a) 3.150,00 TL in accordance with Article 282 of the General Sanitary Law,
  1. b) In accordance with Article 32 of the Law on Misdemeanors, an administrative fine of 392.00 TL is imposed.

Sanliurfa Governorate | About Masks

Sanliurfa Governorate announced that face mask measure will be implemented in Sanliurfa and People without face masks will not be allowed in public places. This measure has been taken to manage the risk posed by the coronavirus epidemic, and to ensure physical isolation and to comply with the social distance rules. The governorate also informed that sanction measures will be applied to those who do not wear masks.
