Families should provide proof that residency regularization procedures have been initiated with General Security.

    âś… Important update

The Council of Ministers has extended the exemption mechanism for Syrian students for the 2026–2027 school year. Under this mechanism:

    • Syrian students may enroll while residency procedures for the student and/or parents/legal guardians are being completed. Families must provide proof from General Security that residency regularization procedures have been initiated.
    • Students/families must provide proof from the General Security Office that residency regularization procedures have been initiated.
    • The exemption applies across education pathways, including public schools (AM and PM shifts), private schools, secondary education, TVET, and literacy/non-formal education programmes.

👉 What you need to do:
Go to the nearest public school operating the relevant shift, or contact the school where your child was enrolled last year, and request registration. For formal TVET, please contact the relevant institute directly.

⚠️ The opening of PM-shift classes will depend on the Ministry’s final decision and the number of students registered.

đź’™ Please share this information with other families who may need it.
