The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has issued a decision to conduct an exceptional, one-time national assessment during the 2026/2027 academic year for children who are not enrolled in formal education and who have participated in non-formal education programmes provided by organizations or entities partnering with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
🎯 The assessment aims to measure the academic competencies and skills that children have acquired through non-formal education programmes and compare their learning achievements with the approved Lebanese curriculum. This will help assess their learning levels and support their transition into recognized formal education pathways in Lebanon. It may also help non-Lebanese children document and assess their learning achievements, supporting their transition to recognized education systems in their countries of origin, including Syria, upon return.
📚 The assessment targets children who are currently not enrolled in formal education and who have previously participated in non-formal education programmes provided by organizations or centres partnering with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
📝 According to the Ministry’s decision, the assessment will measure children’s academic competencies based on the Lebanese curriculum for Grades 1, 2 and 3 of basic education, in the following subjects: Arabic Language – Foreign Language – Mathematics
📌 Parents whose children meet these criteria should contact the NGO or centre where their child completed the non-formal education programme to inquire about the registration process for the assessment and provide any required information.
⚠️ Important note: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has not yet announced the date of the assessment, the assessment centres, or the arrangements for assigning children to these centres. Further details will be announced by the Ministry at a later stage.
Parents are encouraged to follow official announcements and contact the organization or centre where their child completed the NFE programme for further information on registration.
We will share any additional official information as soon as it becomes available.
