Statelessness

Attention! All services and assistance of UNHCR and its partners are free of charge!

UNHCR provides specialized legal counselling to stateless persons on the available legal remedies to claim their right to Lebanese nationality under the existing legal framework, including legal representation in court and administrative authorities.

In addition, UNHCR supports both stateless persons and persons at risk of statelessness to have access to civil documentation and identity documents.

For stateless persons, UNHCR developed an informal basic education program and a community-based program to better understand the protection issues and priorities of stateless persons to address some of these issues.
