Assistance Programmes for Refugees Returning to Syria
Introduction:
UNHCR remains committed to supporting refugees who choose to return voluntarily to Syria and helping make their return as safe and sustainable as possible.
UNHCR provides different forms of assistance to Syrian refugees who have made a voluntary and informed decision to return permanently to Syria. These programmes include:
- Cash Assistance for Voluntary Return
- Passenger Transportation Assistance for Voluntary Return
- Caravan selling support for refugees living in camps
The assistance available to you depends on where you currently live:
- Za’atari Camp
- Azraq Camp
- Urban/Outside refugee camps
Please remember that returning to Syria is a personal and voluntary choice. All UNHCR services, including voluntary return assistance, are free of charge.
