Legal Assistance

Asylum-seekers and refugees registered with UNHCR in Algeria may access free legal assistance through UNHCR’s legal partners.

Legal aid may include:

• Advice and, where applicable, legal representation in cases related to detention, deportation, or legal status;

• Support in obtaining civil documentation (such as birth certificates);

• Assistance to access justice, including support in filing complaints in cases of violence, exploitation, or fraud.

All services are provided confidentially and based on an individual assessment of needs and vulnerabilities.
