Refugees and asylum-seekers have free access to public hospitals in Algeria. The Algerian Red Crescent (CAR) can provide information on available health services and help you access the appropriate healthcare facility when needed.
Health and psychosocial support
The CRA provides:
- Information and guidance on available health services
- Referral and support for access to public hospitals
- Confidential support for survivors of sexual violence
- Psychological and psychosocial support
- Medical follow-up for pregnant women
- HIV and STI testing, treatment, and follow-up through specialized health centres
- Vaccination and support for children
- Financial support for medical expenses, subject to prior approval
