Important Points & Next Steps
- Application Requirements: No employer information, workplace address, employment contract, or other work-related details are requested during this application process.
- Form Validity: The form is valid only together with your Temporary Protection Identity Document, and only in the province indicated on the form (your registration/residence province).
- If the Form cannot be generated: If the system does not produce the form for you, you can approach the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management (PDMM) to inquire about the reason and next steps.
- Finding Employer: To work with the work permit exemption form, you must find an employer.
- Self-Employment: The exemption is not valid for self-employment or for running your own business.
- Reserved Professions: The exemption does not apply to professions reserved for Turkish citizens or to professions requiring prior authorization, including certain jobs in the health and education sectors.
- Work Permit: If you are not eligible for the work permit exemption, you may still access formal employment through the standard work permit procedure. In this case, your employer can submit a work permit application through the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
- Social Security Responsibilities: The employers remain responsible for social security registration for you which will enable access to health insurance and other entitlements like other foreigners formally working in Türkiye.
- Health Insurance Activation: Upon your employer approaching the Social Security Institution (SGK) for payment of social security fees, your coverage under general health insurance will be initiated.
- Family Coverage under General Health Insurance : Following social security registration, you need to approach the PDMM for the issuance of a family composition document. With this document, you need to apply to the relevant Provincial Directorate of SGK to enable coverage of your family members under the general health insurance for eligible family members. Based on the information provided and the applicable social security legislation, SGK will assess which family members qualify as dependents and are eligible for employment-based health insurance coverage.
