Returning Procedure
Voluntary Repatriation to your country is entirely based on your own decision. If you decide to return voluntarily, you will need to follow the steps outlined below.
1. Appointment
- Please make an appointment for voluntary repatriation procedures via https://randevu.goc.gov.tr.
- On the day of your appointment, please apply in person to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management in the province where you are registered.
- Please ensure that you have your Temporary Protection Identity Document (ID card) with you.
- If your family members will also return with you, they must also be present at the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management on the day of the appointment with their identity documents.
2. Procedures to Be Carried Out at the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management
- The biometric data of you and your family members will be collected and the necessary checks will be carried out.
- You will be informed about the support that may be provided during voluntary repatriation, depending on your personal and family situation.
- Interviews will be conducted with you and your family members in order to confirm that the decision to return is voluntary.
- You will be asked to sign the Voluntary Repatriation Form, which is prepared in Turkish and Arabic.
- Family members above the age of 18 will also be asked to sign the form.
- A travel permit valid for 15 days will be issued to enable you to travel to the border gate of your choice.
3. Procedures at the Border Crossing Point
Once the procedures at the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management have been completed, you must travel to the border gate from which you will depart within the validity period of your travel permit. At the border crossing point:
- The information of you and your family members will be verified.
- Your Voluntary Repatriation Form and other relevant documents will be checked.
- If, due to any force majeure or exceptional circumstance, you are unable to depart within the validity period of your travel permit, please inform the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
For Those Departing by Air
- Before your flight date, you may complete the above-mentioned procedures at the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management in the province where you are registered and then proceed to the airport.
- Alternatively, you may complete your voluntary repatriation procedures directly at the airport on the day of your flight.
- In this case, you must be present at the airport at least 4 hours before your flight time.
- For the procedure, please apply to the Visa Violation Office located at the airport.
Support Provided Under Voluntary Repatriation
- If you apply to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management regarding the support that may be provided during the voluntary repatriation process, you will be given the necessary information.
- The steps to be followed will also be shared with you through SMS messages to be sent by UNHCR.
- During the voluntary repatriation interview, officials of the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management will inform you, if you meet the relevant criteria, about cash assistance as well as free legal counselling and legal aid services that may support your return process.
Legal Aid: If you indicate that you require legal aid, or if this need is identified by the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management:
- The Provincial Directorate of Migration Management will inform you about how to access free legal aid.
- If you provide your consent, the Bar Association in the province where you are registered will be informed and a referral form will be issued to you in order to facilitate the process.
- If you apply to the Bar Association in your province with this form, you will be able to benefit from free legal aid.
Important Reminders
- If, at any stage of the process before departure, you decide not to return, you must inform the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management in the province where you are registered.
- All information you share during the voluntary repatriation process will be kept confidential and will not be shared with third parties.
- All voluntary repatriation procedures are free of charge. Please do not trust any person(s) requesting payment for these services and do not make any payments.
