Where can I get support to find an apartment and support with rent?

Jesuit Refugee Services (JRS) manages a few Temporary Shelters in Bangkok, where you can stay a maximum of 30 days. Through accommodation counselling, JRS will assess your case and support you in finding a new place in and around Bangkok.

➡️ For more information, please contact JRS directly and request accommodation counselling.

⚠️ Please note that JRS is a separate and independent NGO from UNHCR. Whether they can assist you is a decision that is entirely up to them.

I cannot pay my rent, and my landlord threatens to evict me. What can I do?

In some cases, BRC or other organizations that work with asylum-seekers and refugees can negotiate with landlords.  Please contact BRC Social Service Unit if you need assistance.

If you are an asylum-seeker, you may wish to contact JRS for possible financial support. Please note that JRS is a separate and independent NGO from UNHCR. Whether JRS can assist you is a decision that is entirely up to them.

⚠️ Please note that UNHCR works with the Royal Thai Government to support forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals in “temporary shelters” in the Thai-Myanmar border areas. These are not open to other nationalities and are controlled by the Royal Thai Government.
