Why is the programme closing?
Almost four years into the emergency, the amount of humanitarian funding available for the support of hosting households is going down. As a result, WFP will not carry the programme further after Round 21, which will take place in November 2025. WFP understands that there is a broad need for financial assistance but is not able to maintain carry on with the programme.
When is the programme closing?
The programme will be permanently closed at the end of December 2025 with Round 21 as the final one.
What can I do if I am not able to host refugee(s) without the assistance provided by WFP?
WFP understands that there is a broad need for financial assistance but is not able to maintain carry on with the programme. All beneficiaries will be informed of the decision to close the programme through SMS around late-November 2025. It is extremely important that you begin to plan now for the eventuality that this assistance will no longer be provided.
Do you expect any further changes to WFP’s decision to close the programme?
At the moment, the decision to close the programme after Round 21 is final. In case of any changes, WFP will keep hosting households informed as needed.
