We are writing to share an important update from Talent Beyond Boundaries (TBB) regarding the Skilled Refugee Labour Agreement Pilot in Australia and what it means for candidates residing in Indonesia.
TBB has informed us that candidates residing in Indonesia will no longer be eligible for endorsement under the Skilled Refugee Labour Agreement Pilot in Australia.
This adjustment is necessary to ensure that the Pilot remains aligned with the policy settings of Australia’s Humanitarian Program. While the Skilled Refugee Labour Agreement Pilot does not utilize humanitarian visas, candidates residing in Indonesia, whether registered with UNHCR or not, are no longer considered eligible for endorsement under the Labour Mobility Pathway in light of these policy settings.
As a result, TBB will no longer progress applications from candidates residing in Indonesia through this pathway. This applies to all candidates residing in Indonesia, regardless of nationality or UNHCR registration status, including those who have received job offers, completed interviews, are on waiting lists, or are part of backlog cases.
This change does not reflect an individual’s skills, qualifications, or suitability for employment, nor an employer’s interest in recruiting them. Rather, it relates to the requirements for endorsement under this specific Pilot.
Please note that this update applies only to the Skilled Refugee Labour Agreement Pilot in Australia. TBB continues to support labour mobility opportunities in other countries, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Europe and Canada.
UNHCR understands that this news may be disappointing for those who have invested time and effort in pursuing labour pathway to Australia. We remain committed to working with partners to support labour mobility opportunities and other opportunities for refugees in other destination countries wherever possible.
