The Ministry of Security (MoS) is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and implementation of immigration and asylum policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Within the Ministry of Security, The Sector for Asylum is responsible for registering asylum applications, conducting refugee status determination interviews and issuing decisions.
Once international protection (refugee status or subsidiary protection) is recognized, the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees is responsible for taking care of the rights and concerns of international protection status holders.
