Personal Data Update

All services provided by UNHCR and partners are free of charge.  

Please find below information if you would like to update your personal data after you register with UNHCR Indonesia.

How do I update my personal information?

If you would like to update your personal information such as name, date of birth, education, religion, or marital status, please submit your request via Kobo Online Inquiry Form 

Choose “Yes” for the question “Are you registered with UNHCR in Indonesia?” and fill in the UNHCR number that appears on your UNHCR document. Choose “Biodata Change” as the topic of concern. 

UNHCR will contact you to proceed with the request. Please be informed that biodata change requests should be supported by evidence and not all requests will be approved by UNHCR.

What if I get married/divorced?

If you are married or divorced and need to merge or split your case, please submit your request via Kobo Online Inquiry Form.

Choose “Yes” for the question “Are you registered with UNHCR in Indonesia?” and fill in the UNHCR number that appears on your UNHCR document. Choose “Case Merge / Separation” as the topic of concern.

UNHCR will contact you to proceed with the request. Please be informed that merge/split requests should be supported by evidence and not all requests will be approved by UNHCR.  

How do I update my contact details (address and/or phone number)?

It is extremely important that you maintain accurate contact details in UNHCR’s database as this is how we will contact you with any case updates or important information. 

In particular, please ensure a consistent WhatsApp number.  If you obtain a new phone number, try to maintain the WhatsApp number with which you registered with UNHCR. If you must change the WhatsApp, please notify us immediately. 

If you would like to update your contact details or address, please submit your request via Kobo Online Inquiry Form.

Choose “Yes” for the question “Are you registered with UNHCR in Indonesia?” and fill in the UNHCR number that appears on your UNHCR document. Fill in your new contact details and choose “Address and Phone Number Update” as the topic of your concern, then submit. UNHCR may call you to verify the information and will make necessary updates in the database. Please note that if you are requesting a phone number update, UNHCR will automatically update your number in our database.  

Please make sure to always update UNHCR with your active WhatsApp number as UNHCR will reach out to you via WhatsApp if there is any update in your case file or to share important information. Your case file might be inactivated if you do not update your UNHCR ID document in a timely manner and you are uncontactable for an extended period.  

How do I register my newborn baby with UNHCR?

There are 2 (two) ways to request appointment for registration of your newborn baby.

  • Via Self Service Portal
    If you already have a Self-Service account, please log in here: Log in to Self-Service Portal.
    Once logged in, submit your request for a newborn registration appointment by selecting “Request to Add Newborn Baby” under the “My Services” menu. This method helps accelerate the process.
  • Via KOBO Online Inquiry Form
    If you are registered with UNHCR but do not yet have a Self-Service account, you can submit your request through the Kobo Online Inquiry Form.
    The detail steps are as follows:
    1. Select “Yes” for the question “Are you registered with UNHCR in Indonesia?”
    2. Enter your UNHCR case number
    3. Provide your active contact number
    4. Choose “Newborn Registration” as the topic of your concern, then submit the form.

UNHCR will contact you to schedule a registration interview. Please ensure you have the birth notification issued by the hospital/clinic/midwife with you for the registration interview.
