Refugees and asylum seekers are currently not permitted to work while in Indonesia. However, you can still benefit from opportunities to gain skills and experience while in the country. Refugees and asylum seekers have access to training programs and training centers managed by the Ministry of Manpower and by local governments. In addition, UNHCR actively supports skills building programs to empower refugees, promote self-reliance, and improve opportunities to realize a durable solution. These skills-training initiatives are project-based. Due to limited slots, priority is given to refugees who have registered their skills in the Talent Catalog of our partner, Talent Beyond Boundaries. If you are interested in registering your skills, please click here.
Here are some of our past and on-going collaborations and programs:
- Entrepreneurship Skills with ILO
- Organic Farming with The Learning Farm
- Modelling and Painting Training with Miskha Project by Makaila Haifa
- IT Bootcamp and Digital Marketing Workshop with Alterra Academy
We continually seek and create more opportunities for refugees. To stay informed, please regularly check this page for updates.
