01/09/2023 UNHCR is pleased to inform urban refugees and other people seeking services from Gikondo Community Centre that from Monday, 4 September 2023, we are moving from the old premise to a new one located at Gikondo at Rujugiro Road (KK31), House # 264, 5 minutes away from the old centre.
The selection of our new premise has involved a thorough process of joint assessment and included community consultation and visit by representatives of different communities. We are hoping the new centre will be more inclusive to displaced persons including the ones living with disabilities and can be a safe space for us to conduct community led initiative.
The provision of service by UNHCR and its partners (PFR, HI, Save the Children) will continue from Tuesday, 5 September 2023. UNHCR and partners will also continue receiving emergency cases (live-saving interventions) on the 4 September on exceptional basis.
