Enrollment into school can happen at any time during the year. The school year 2023/2024 starts on 4th of September.
Ukrainian children aged 7 to 18 must be enrolled in formal education – in either the Polish school system, or Ukrainian on-line school. PESEL number is not necessary when enrolling children in educational institutions.
- Education is essential for all children (girls and boys) regardless of the duration a family thinks it may stay in Poland, whether they speak Polish well or at all, or physical or intellectual abilities.
- Education plays a critical role in supporting the developmental needs of children. Schools provide safe spaces for children to learn, socialize, make friends, play and forget about their worries.
- The daily routine of going to school and being in a physical school environment has been shown to have important emotional and psychosocial benefits for children.
