UNHCR’s Legal Partner, Cabinet Maître LEMSEGUEM, operates across all provinces in Morocco. As an asylum-seeker or a refugee, you have the right to approach and request legal assistance from UNHCR’s Legal partner for any legal dispute you may face.
➡️ Legal assistance is available for cases of:
- Deportation
- Administrative detention
- Abuse and violence
- Other cases falling under civil law (such as divorce, custody, and birth registration), rent law, commercial law, and labour law.
In addition, UNHCR’s legal unit provides counselling and assistance by:
- Disseminating information on rights and duties of recently registered asylum seekers and providing them with legal counselling.
- Providing information on obtaining national documentation (residence permit, work permit, civil status- birth certificate/marriage certificate/death certificate, etc.)
- Legally representing refugees and asylum seekers with authorities (before the courts, before the police in case of detention)

Any refugee or asylum-seeker registered with UNHCR’s office in Morocco can benefit from services provided by UNHCR’s Counselling and Legal Assistance Unit and UNHCR’s legal partner Cabinet Maître El Kbir LEMSEGUEM.
