Higher Education

Access to education beyond secondary studies, such as university and technical schools, is available to refugees depending on their situation.

  • Recognised refugees who have obtained their baccalaureate in Morocco have access to tertiary education in the same way as Moroccans
  • Refugee students who came to Morocco as part of a bilateral agreement between the country of origin and Morocco, can integrate into the Moroccan tertiary system through the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI).
  • Refugees who are NOT holders of a Moroccan baccalaureate and who have not entered into the framework of AMCI, will need to get in touch with UNHCR partner Fondation Orient Occident education officer to see further options.

➡️ Visit the Government website for more information on access to tertiary education.

Can Refugees access private higher education?

Refugees have access to private higher education but are required to pay for tuition fees like Moroccan students (fees vary from one school to another).
