I am a foreigner in South Sudan seeking refuge / asylum (‘Asylum Seeker’)

South Sudan grants asylum to people when they arrive on its territory, fleeing from war and persecution. If you have left your home country because of war, conflicts or a credible threat to your life and liberty and are unwilling or unable to go back as you fear for your own life, you can seek asylum in South Sudan.

Due to the internal situation of some countries, South Sudan recognizes directly as refugees those people who are coming from the following countries:

  • Sudan
  • Democratic Republic of Congo
  • Central African Republic

Granting the so-called prima facie refugee recognition is mentioned in the 2012 Refugee Act.

If you are from one of these countries and have already registered, please go directly to the information page for refugees.
