The recruitment for the 7th cohort (MBBS Class of 2032) of the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery-Master of Science in Global Health Delivery (MBBS-MGHD) program, is now open from the 29th of September 2025 and will close on the 16th of January 2026 @5PM CAT.
UGHE’s MBBS-MGHD program is a 6.8 years dual and integrated, medical fulltime degree program located in Butaro, Rwanda. It integrates medical humanities and social sciences, biomedical sciences, clinical education and care, mentored internship, innovations such as simulation and laboratory-based teaching, early exposure to research, community-based education, social medicine, leadership, and management.
All qualified applicants will be admitted into the MBBS-MGHD program with no application or tuition costs. Rather, all admitted students will sign a Public Service Agreement , where they commit to serving a specified number of professional years of service to vulnerable populations in their countries of origin. The MBBS-MGHD program is open to qualified applicants from the following countries: Burundi, DRC, Eritrea, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Rwanda, Non-Rwandan nationals with refugee status in Rwanda, and Non-Rwandan nationals with refugee status from all African countries.
