In September 2015, the University of Barcelona launched the Support Program for refugees and people from conflict areas, managed by the Fundació Solidaritat UB. The Program aims to promote enrollment in undergraduate or master’s programs at the University of Barcelona by students who are refugees or in refugee-like situations. It is co-financed by the University of Barcelona, the Fundació Solidaritat UB, and the Barcelona City Council. The initiative is aimed at non-EU students who are threatened and/or displaced in their countries of origin or refugees in first asylum or transit countries, providing safe pathways to resettlement in third countries.
