It is normal to feel stressed, worried, or overwhelmed, especially after difficult experiences. Many refugees and asylum-seekers face emotional challenges, and support is available. 

If you need someone to talk to, there are services that can help you feel better and cope with daily life. 

You may want to seek help if you: 

  • Feel very sad, stressed, or anxious most of the time  
  • Have trouble sleeping or concentrating  
  • Feel angry or overwhelmed  
  • Have experienced trauma or difficult events  
  • Feel alone and need someone to talk to 

Mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) include: 

  • Talking to a counsellor  
  • Emotional support and advice  
  • Group support activities  
  • Help for stress, anxiety, or trauma  
  • Support for children and families
