Returning to your country of origin

In principle, you can voluntarily return to your country of origin (or of previous residence in case you are stateless) at any time, regardless of the stage of your procedures.

If you wish to return voluntarily to your home country, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) can assist you.

IOM runs Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) programme that aims at orderly and humane return and reintegration of migrants and asylum seekers who are unable or unwilling to remain in host or transit countries and wish to return voluntarily to their countries of origin. AVRR programme provides administrative, logistical and financial support to those who decide to return home but lack the means to do so.
