As an asylum seeker, you do not have access to welfare services, such as social assistance.
➡️Refugees
Refugees are entitled to the same Social Security benefits as Maltese nationals on the same terms (including, for example, Children’s Allowance, Unemployment Benefit, Injury Benefit, etc).

- If employed (and paying contributions), entitled to contributory benefits if meeting the eligibility criteria. Visit the Government’s website for more information.
- The Foundation for Social Welfare Services (FSWS) provides social welfare services concerning family welfare, alcohol and substance abuse, and other social welfare support.
