➡️ Asylum seekers
If you are an asylum seeker, you have the right to reside in accommodation centres run by the Agency for the Welfare of Asylum Seekers (AWAS) for free for a period of 6 months (for single men) and for 1 year (for women and families).
The open accommodation centres are located in Ħal Far, an industrial zone in the south of Malta.
➡️ Beneficiaries of International Protection (those with refugee status and subsidiary protection)
- Entitled to schemes and services offered by the Housing Authority.
- One of the most practical forms of support offered by the Housing Authority is the Private Rent Housing Benefit Scheme (financial support towards rent payment for persons with limited income).
