At UNHCR, our mission is to offer safe, trusthorthy, respectful and inclusive environments for the persons we serve, and that they feel protected, heard, equipped, and emmpowered to raise their own voice.
That’s why at UNHCR we do not tolerate gender based violence, or inappropriate sexual conduct directed to the persons we serve, or personnel working for the organization. If a case arises, UNHCR will put forward actions that are centered in the victim, and will make an effort to erradicate exploitation, abuse, and harassment within the organization and the humanitarian sector.
In addition, UNHCR works in the protection of all refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced, and persons pending a nationality solution who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. We work with partners to provide inclusive services, protect their rights, and identify safe options for them.
