Persons we serve in the Dominican Republic

For over fifty years, UNHCR has helped millions of people to restart their lives, safeguarding the rights and wellbeing of persons who have been forced to flee or pending a nationality solution. These include refugees, returnees, stateless, internally displaced persons and asylum seekers. Our work with partners and communities are based off providing protection, shelter, health, and education, and help build more promising futures.

In the Dominican Republic, UNHCR serves:

  1. Refugees and asylum seekers from Venezuela
  2. Refugees and asylum seekers from other countries
  3. Persons pending a nationality solution
