The Brazilian Law 13,445 of 2017 establishes complementary form of admission and legal stay in Brazil, including on humanitarian ground. Individuals from various nationalities affected by humanitarian crises are eligible for humanitarian visas to seek protection and legal residency in Brazil, including Afghans affected by the armed conflict in Afghanistan, Syrians affected by the ongoing conflict in Syria and Haitians affected by severe or imminent institutional instability. Venezuelans escaping socio-political and economic crises and Ukrainians affected by the ongoing conflict are eligible to enter Brazil without a visa and obtain a residence permit once Brazil. If you are not a national from one of these countries, kindly note that you are not eligible for a humanitarian visa and will need to consult the Brazilian embassy/consulate for other visa options.
