We are aware that persons are trying to cross the border irregularly into the countries neighbouring Belarus, such as Poland and Lithuania. Such border crossings are dangerous and can lead to severe hardship, illness, injury, or even death. It can also lead to prolonged separation from your family members.
Please be aware that the cold temperatures can cause serious risks to your health, such as frostbite and hypothermia. Unfortunalely, there have been already instance of individuals‘ deaths from the cold in the border areas.
The conditions are particularly dangerous for children and other vulnerable persons.
Be also aware that you may be approached by persons providing you with incorrect or misleading information, including to expoit you or earn money from your situation. Seek information from reliable sources and be alert to any scams that can hurt you or your family.
