What should I do to protect myself, my family, and my community from COVID-19? 

At all times, practice good hygiene, including: 

  • Regularly washing your hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based rub 
  • Maintaining at least 2 metre (6 feet) distance between yourself and anyone. 
  • Avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth 
  • Covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze, then disposing of the used tissue immediately 
  • Staying home if you feel unwell

What are common COVID-19 symptoms? 

Most common symptoms are fever, cough, difficulties with breathing, muscle aches and fatigue.

What should I do and where do I go if I develop COVID-19 symptoms? 

According to the Ukraine Ministry of Health, first consult your doctor by phone or online. If your temperature exceeds 38 C, call 103.  

If it is not possible to contact your doctor, please contact the contact center of the Ukraine Ministry of Health for COVID-19 issues at 0 800 60 20 19 (calls are free). 

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE SICK 

For asylum seekers and refugees: 

  • If you have already signed a declaration with the family doctor, please contact your family doctor. In parallel, please contact by phone UNHCR social partner in your region (Rokada,  Desyate Kvitnia, Neeka and R2P in Kharkiv). 
  • If symptoms are severe – you should call the ambulance and inform the Partner 
  • If your children are sick, contact the doctor on call in the children’s hospital. Again, we suggest to contact the partners who will help identify who exactly to contact. 
    Follow the instructions of your doctor. 
  • In case  your health condition deteriorates, call an ambulance. Do not self-medicate or go to an outpatient clinic. 
  • If you are denied access to medical services, contact UNHCR partner organizations in your region.
