The Ministry of Homeland Security has announced the launch of the 2026 Migrant Registration Framework (MRF). Online registration will open on Monday, 26 January 2026, and will close on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.
This registration process applies to all undocumented migrants, regardless of nationality.
The exercise will be conducted by the Ministry of Homeland Security, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence.
Approved applicants will receive a Migrant Registration Card, which provides legal authorization to reside and work in Trinidad and Tobago until 31 December 2026.
The Ministry has reminded all undocumented migrants that participation in this registration window is required. Individuals who do not register within the established dates may face deportation.
Registration process
All applicants must begin by completing the online registration through the official portal: www.migrantregistration.gov.tt.
After submitting the digital form, applicants will be required to attend an in‑person appointment for processing and verification. During this stage, authorities will carry out a comprehensive review, including:
- Security vetting conducted by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), which includes fingerprinting and background checks.
- Health screening carried out on-site by officials from the Ministry of Health.
- A registration fee of TT$700.00 applies per applicant.
