Legal counselling

During the asylum procedure, you have access to free counseling and legal representation.

Upon your arrival at a federal asylum centre, you will be assigned a legal representative. This legal representative will support you throughout your asylum procedure.

Each federal asylum centre also has a free legal counseling centre. This is open every day and you can ask any other questions you may have.

If you live in a cantonal centre and your asylum case is still pending, you can contact a legal advisory service in your canton of residence for any questions about your asylum procedure.

You may also want to reach out to AsyLex, a non-profit organisation providing legal advice to asylum seekers in Switzerland.

If you received a negative asylum decision in the region of Northwestern Switzerland and Zurich and do not have legal representation, you can contact Pikett Asyl, an advice center for rejected asylum seekers.

UNHCR does not provide individual legal representation or counseling.
