It is not always easy or possible to find missing persons, or to reunite families, but children have the right to be with their parents and families. If you are not with your parents, it is good to let us know so that we can help you stay safe in Senegal. We can also try to help you find them and get in touch with them with the help of the Red Cross Senegal (ICRC)

I’m not going to school right now, but I’d like to go. How can I get help getting to school?๐ซ๐
Every child has the right to go to school. You don’t need any documents and you don’t have to pay extra compared to Senegalese children. If you’re not going to school right now, the first thing you need to do is enroll in school. You may have to wait until a specific time of year to register.
If you and your family have a card or other document (ask your parents or caregiver if you are unsure), you must go to the school closest to your home and register.
If you don’t have a card or other document, go to the UNHCR or GVF office.ย ย If you need more information or assistance, you can contact UNHCR directly ๐ ๐ง ๐ฑ๐ข.ย
Someone has hurt me or I’m afraid they will. What must I do?
No one has the right to abuse, neglect or mistreat a child, not even their parents, families or teachers. If someone has hurt you or touched you in a way that makes you uncomfortable, or if you’re afraid someone will, some organizations can help. If you contact UNHCR, we will do our best to help you. You can also call UNHCR or the GVF, which is responsible for the protection of refugee children.ย
