Employment Pathways

IMPORTANT: UNHCR is facilitating the TBB program in Pakistan and is not currently involved in other employment pathways. The information on this page is for reference only. If you want to apply for any programs, please visit the websites listed below for further details.

Talents Beyond Boundaries TBB works to eradicate the barriers for skilled refugees to enter the labor market, contribute their skills, and build meaningful lives. TBB provides an alternative solution by increasing access to existing labor mobility pathways and creating new pathways for refugees to use to migrate for work. This allows for a transformative change to their income and ability to support family members (including extended family members through remittances) while also making an economic contribution to the communities into which they move. TBB overcomes the informational, legal, and financial barriers that prevent skilled refugees from filling vacancies in receiving countries, including Canada, Australia, and the UK. By moving to countries where their skills can be put to use, refugees and their families can regularize their legal status, feel safer, and experience a significant gain in income, well-being, and safety. For more information, please contact the TBB Website and Application Portal   Talents Beyond Boundaries

Additional Labour Mobility Schemes:

  i) Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP): The EMPP combines refugee resettlement and economic immigration. It was created by the Government of Canada to help skilled refugees immigrate to Canada through existing economic programmes and give employers in Canada access to a new pool of qualified candidates to fill job openings. For more information on eligibility for the EMPP, please refer to https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/refugees/economic-mobility-pathways-pilot/immigrate/eligibility.html . In addition to meeting the general requirements for the EMPP, you must also be eligible for one of the following economic immigration programmes:
  1. Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)
  2. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
  3. Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP)
ii) TalentLift Canada: TalentLift is a non-profit talent agency. They support employers to source talent from within refugee and displaced populations to fill skills shortages, enabling refugees along with their families to migrate to Canada. For more information, please visit: https://www.talentlift.ca/ and select “Seek a Job”. NOTE: The individuals need to register themselves on the TBB/TalentLift Portal as “Job Seekers” and complete their profile by providing their educational qualifications and professional experience. Individuals become a part of the talent pool and are invited to an interview when a job opportunity matching their qualifications arises. It is important to note that simply registering does not guarantee a job. iii) Make it In Germany: For more information on how to apply for available jobs in Germany please visit the following government website: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/ Please note UNHCR and its partners maintain a zero-tolerance policy against fraud and corruption, sexual exploitation and abuse and any form of solicitation for money or favours in exchange for assistance and services.
