About UNHCR in Estonia

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, protects people forced to flee their homes because of conflict and persecution.  We save lives, protect rights and help build better futures.

In Estonia, UNHCR supports the national authorities in executing its duties in line with international and European standards. UNHCR is not part of the asylum procedure in Estonia. The asylum procedure in Estonia is under the responsibility of the Police and Border Guard Board.

UNHCR in Estonia is part of UNHCR’s Representation for the Nordic and Baltic Countries, which is based in Stockholm (Sweden).
