If you are a family member or dependent of a refugee who was granted international protection (asylum or subsidiary protection) in Czechia, you have the right to apply for family reunification to be reunited with them in Czechia.
Who is a family member?
In general, family reunification applies to:
- Spouses, or same-sex registered partners
- Parents and minor dependent children
- In some cases other relatives
The following options are available depending on where you are:
- If you are outside Czechia, you can apply at the responsible Czech Embassy or Consulate for a:
1. Long-term residence permit for the purpose of family reunification, or
2. Long-term visa for the purpose of family reunification - If you are already in Czechia, you can apply for:
1. Long-term residence permit for the purpose of family reunification, or
2. International Protection (asylum or subsidiary protection) based on family unity
