The Amazonas State University (UEA) has opened registration for the 2025 Entrance Exam, which selects students for undergraduate programs beginning in 2026. The process reserves 57 specific spots for refugees, asylum seekers, stateless persons, or those with humanitarian asylum visas in 20 undergraduate programs offered in Manaus, Itacoatiara, Parintins, and Tefé. The initiative was created by UEA in 2024 as part of the Ampliar Project, which aims to promote the admission of diverse populations to the university’s programs, also providing spots for Indigenous people, Black people, and people with disabilities.
Applications must be submitted from July 21st to August 28th on the UEA website. The selection process will be conducted in Portuguese, with general and specific knowledge tests and a writing test on October 27th and 28th. Candidates will participate in the regular selection process but will compete within their categories for the spots available in each program. Successful applicants can access various student support programs, including tutoring programs, access to university restaurants, and the Housing Assistance Grant, which provides places in Student Housing.
