The United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) was established in 1964 and maintains the buffer zone between the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities of the island.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works to support the ongoing peace and confidence building processes in Cyprus by promoting initiatives that encourage dialogue and cooperation between the communities of Cyprus.
