Medical Support

You can get medical help under different circumstances, including in case of emergency. Click on the options below to find information on who is eligible and how to apply.

Eligibility

  • You can apply for medical examination support provided by the Korean government if: 
  • You have financial difficulties to afford medical examinations required for refugee application; 
  • If you need to receive medical examination due to public health concern 

Where to apply

  • Before registering as a registered resident 
  • A local immigration office where refugee status application was lodged 
  • After registering as a resident 
  • A local immigration office having jurisdiction over your place of stay 

How to apply

  • You need to be present at an immigration office to apply. The Korean Ministry of Justice will decide whether or not to grant the support. Please contact the Immigration Contact Center (dial 1345).

  • You may apply for the emergency medical care support if you have financial difficulties to afford emergency medical care.
