About UNHCR in Latvia

All information and services provided by UNHCR and our partners are FREE OF CHARGE.

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, protects people forced to flee their homes because of conflict and persecution. We save lives, protect rights and help build better futures.

In Latvia, UNHCR supports the national authorities in executing its duties in line with international and European standards. UNHCR is not part of the asylum procedure in Latvia. The asylum procedure in Latvia is under the responsibility of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs under the Latvian Ministry of the Interior.
