If you already have a My Services account, follow these steps to check your resettlement status:
- Log in to My Services Portal,
- Go to the Home page,
- Select Resettlement to view your case details.
What you will see
- Your case status (e.g. No Active Resettlement Case, Considered for resettlement, Not considered for resettlement, Submitted, Accepted, Denied or Closed)
- Your case ID number, which is your unique reference number for any follow-up
- A short message explaining what your case status means
What the case status means
Please note that we will always contact you if there is any change in your case, to provide counselling on the process.
- No Active Resettlement Case: You are not under consideration by UNHCR for resettlement.
- Considered for Resettlement: You are at a stage in the resettlement process where UNHCR or a resettlement country is reviewing your case. You will be contacted when there are updates or next steps.
- Not considered for Resettlement: Following careful consideration by UNHCR, your resettlement case was not recommended for further consideration, and your resettlement case is now closed.
- Submitted: Your case has been submitted to a resettlement country for their consideration.
- Accepted: Your case has been accepted by a resettlement country. Their authorities or partners will contact you directly about next steps.
- Denied: Your case was denied by the resettlement country and your resettlement case is now closed. You have been counselled by UNHCR accordingly.
- Resettlement Case Closed: Your case has been closed. This may happen for several reasons, including:
- UNHCR decided not to recommend your case
- The resettlement country did not accept it
- You departed for resettlement
- You are no longer under consideration
You should have already received counselling on the reason.
You will see messages explaining your specific situation when you check your status.
If your situation changes (for example: birth, marriage, divorce, separation, or a change in personal details), you must inform UNHCR as soon as possible.
You can do this through My Services portal or by calling UNHCR Helpline on 0662330304.
Please note that the UNHCR Helpline cannot provide any information on the status of your resettlement case. My Services portal should be used if you want an update on where your case is in the resettlement process.
